On August 18，the Chemical Project in Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel Base undertaken by MCC5 Group Shanghai Corp. Ltd. held the commencement ceremony, marking the formal start of the construction of this project. Mr. Liu Changwei (Party Secretary of Shanghai Baosteel Chemical Co. Ltd.) announced the order of commencement.
This project is located within the Chemical Plant of Baosteel Chemical Zhanjiang Co. Ltd. The construction work was divided into two stages: The first stage: the auxiliary facilities for the main works including：oil tank farm（tar tank zone, benzene tank zone）and charging system, the mating pipe rack system, substation, test laboratory , central control room , canteen and office building, etc. It is planned to be put into production until June 14, 2015.The second stage: 200,000t /a tar processing unit and auxiliary facilities, including：tar naphthalene distillation unit, fraction scrubbing & phenolate decomposition unit；tar tank zone；substation, central control room, circulating water station, fire-fighting water system, etc. It is planned to start hot load test-run on March 1, 2016.
